Depression is a mood disorder in which a person experiences frequent feelings of sadness and a loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed. It impacts how you feel, think and behave and can cause impairments in all areas of your life.

Anxiety is when your body has various reactions to danger, such as feeling threatened, being under intense pressure, or are fearing a stressful situation. There are many symptoms of anxiety, including physical and emotional ones.

Grief is a typical reaction to loss. When grief becomes an issue for the individual, is when it becomes impairing. When grief is keeping the individual from participating in their everyday life, self care, and obligations, it has crossed over to a point of being significant.

There is no legal definition of bullying, but it is often defined as repeated behavior with intent to hurt another person, physically or emotionally. It can take many forms, including verbal threats, physical assault, calling names, gossiping and online bullying (cyberbullying).

Suicidal thoughts

Everyone has different reasons for wanting to end their lives and some people feel like they have no reason at all. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, then you should try to talk about them before making any decisions. Even if you think no-one wants to listen, the truth is - they do.

Work related stress

Work related stress is a growing problem in Britain. Increasing numbers of people report feeling undervalued, overworked, underpaid and unfulfilled in the workplace - feelings that can lead to further complications with mental health. Counselling aims to get to the root of work related stress. We are all different and as such we all react differently to certain situations.

Stress consists of physical, mental, and/or emotional strain on a person. Often, when a person experiences stress, they believe that the demands placed upon them exceed their ability to achieve them.

Relationship Issues

Relationship issues vary considerably, depending on the nature of the relationship and the circumstances that have led to problems.

"This process of the good life is not, I am convinced, a life for the faint hearted. It involves the stretching and growing of becoming more and more of one's potentialities. It involves the courage to be. it means launching oneself fully into the stream of life. yet the deeply exciting thing about human beings is that when the individual is inwardly free, he chooses as the good life this process of becoming."
